I just cruised through your Sterling Sports Cars web site and noticed
something new. I am ecstatic about the Eco Sterling that you have now
previewed. My plans from the start have been to combine my dream of
having a Sterling with the dream of constructing an electric car. I
have been in frequent contact with Bob at EVAmerica in New Hampshire
and have mapped out a plan for using his FB1 electric engine and T1275
(12) batteries. I would like to hear any details you can share with me
about your upcoming Eco Sterling! Once again great job on what you are
doing with this absolute gem of a sports car.

Wow, Dave. Those chassis are works of art! Seriously, the work you're doing (and helping to coordinate) is wonderful. I think I can speak for everyone in saying that we're all very appreciative of what you're trying to do for the Sterling Kit Car.

Hi Sterling/Nova/Cymbria/Sebring/Eureka friends,

The mission or vision of the Sterling club is in essence what the Eagle
Sports Car Club of SOUTH AFRICA
Our Mission is to extend a hand to the owner and dreamer; to form a
community no matter how far apart we may be on this earth. The cyber
world and our shared passion for this one automotive phenomenon bind us
together, and it is our hope that, as a community, we can enhance each of
our cars through shared experience, ideas and creativity. We want to
create an open forum and exchange of thoughts, plans, ideas and most
importantly, shared triumphs!
The Eagle Sports Car Club of South Africa was formed back in 1986 and
since then we are striving to do just what is stated in the mission. In
1986 we had a list of only four cars and a few enthusiasts but at the
moment we have a list of 45 cars around the RSA and we are in the lucky
position to report that 14 of those cars are attending our regular get
togethers not all at the same time but we have a record of seven of these
cars together at one place on one day. Eagles cars are lying around in
various states of disrepair.

The kit car environment in South Africa is quiet at this point in time
mainly due to the exorbitant price of petrol and the high interest rates
to cover up for imperfections in management of the countries affairs. The
Eagle was produced in the RSA back in 1974/5 by a company called Eagle
Automotive with a production run as far as we could ascertain 150 cars and
as it goes with a partnership (the only ship that never sails) the company
broke up and the production of this magnificent car stopped.

We as a club had close connections with the Nova Club in the UK and we are
great friends of David Iles and Steven Cook. Back in the
early nineties we also made connection with fellow enthusiasts in New
Zeeland with his two Eureka's and I have still got one photograph of his
black Eureka in a shipping container.
This letter is to request that our website be included in the links
department of your respective website SterlingSportsCars.com  please, to enable enthusiasts to
share their experiences and knowledge of this great car..

Dave,

Thanks for all the Sterling parts, The windsheild fit perfect
into my original Sterling Canopy. I will send the latest photos soon:

My two sons (11 and 10) have come up with a really
incredible idea for a paint job. They sketched the
car and kept drawing different ideas until each came
up with something unique.

I usualy don't work on my owncars beyond the basices
but I am proued to say I really did alot on my Sterling
rebuild myself.

Regards and thanks for your help and support.

I now have my Sterling on the road and I have to add 5 minutes to my travel time whereever I go because people are always asking questions and taking pictures. I wish I had this car in high school. I might have gone luckier w/ the ladies.

regards,
MR,

First, it's great to hear you're continuing on with the manufacture & development of Sterling cars & related parts. It's a unique design & a great overall car.
I imagine there are more than a few people happy to hear they'll still be able to find parts & such for their Sterling. :) (I know I am. :) )
Best regards,
Eric S.

Dave,
I am so glad to know parts are still availible for these cars for my restoration project.  I received the window couple of days ago. Nice piece of glass, perfect fit. I noticed that you have window and top weatherstrip sets. Are they rubber of foam? Can I get them sent with the hood?

Howdy from San Antonio!

I have been a long-time fan of the Sterling kit car.

My efforts to assemble ideas and resources to build a
custom Electric Vehicle version of the Sterling have only
been a paper exercise until now, but I wanted to write
you and say thanks for your efforts to keep the interest
and support alive for this amazing body design.

I am very interested in a full body and VW chassis purchase,
Regarding the chassis selection, I would need to review
both engine versions more closely, for maximum
compatibility with the electric motor and battery pack
configurations I would require, but your offering would
seem to be a huge step forward for me in pursuing my
project in a timely and affordable manner.

Thanks for all the options!

I look forward to hearing back from you soon, and invite
you to call me if it is convenient, (###) ###-####
